Be alert for these danger signs. If one or more of these things happens to you, immediately alert the bank, credit card companies and any other organization that has aroused your suspicions that you're a victim of identity theft. You should also contact credit reporting organizations to alert them to the fact that you're a victim of identity theft and unauthorized applications for credit may be made in your name. There is also one thing you can do in advance to protect yourself from the costs associated with restoring your identity in claims from fraud or identity theft.
