Comprehensive Coverage for Union Members

Financial protection at an affordable price.

Every member in good standing of a union participating in this aspect of the Union Savings program is entitled to receive absolutely free $2,500 in accidental death insurance. All you have to do is submit an enrollment form.

Young children

A number of benefits included in the Union Advantage Insurance Plan have been negotiated specifically with union members in mind. A person who is off work as a result of a strike or lockout can have their premiums waved for up to six months - with no reduction in benefits.

As with any insurance policy, disputes may occasionally arise over the provision of benefits. If this happens under the Union Savings Plan, help is available to the claimant. The Plan provides for an independent mediation arbitration process that is a first in Canada outside of any similar provisions that may appear in a few union contracts.

The chart below illustrates the benefits in detail.
